FAQs

Can I use a home test kit?

Home test kits are misleading. They don’t distinguish background mold from that which threaten your health. A kit may show “positive” and you panic  or it may show “negative” when a hidden mold problem exists. 

During a consultation, I can explain which tests work, how to interpret results, and how to avoid being misled by data that doesn’t tell the whole story. You will be able to make confident decisions before spending thousands of dollars on  remediation. 

What if I already hired a contractor?

Some recommend unnecessary demolition or expensive treatments. My role is independent. I help you verify the work plan is valid, your contractor isn’t overlooking critical steps, and confirm a remediation was successful.

Think of me as a second set of eyes protecting your health and your wallet. Even if you’ve hired someone to do testing or remediation, I can help you avoid mistakes that could cost thousands and leave you with the same problems.
